Antoine Hunter was originally profiled in the July 2008 issue,
and since then, he's packed in plenty of action and traveling, including a
trip to Tunisia—his first visit to Africa—performing with Kim Epifano’s
Epiphany Productions. While in Africa, Hunter celebrated his birthday, and
“had sa blast.” He has greatly enjoyed working with Epifano, who has an open-minded
attitude towards working with Deaf dancers. He continues to dance with his
companies, Urban Jazz Dance and Iron Triangle, and to teach children and
adults. Now that the East Bay Center is closed for major renovations, he’s
had a tough time getting rehearsal space—but has been managing to pull off
some great moves. His ambitions? He’d like to perform in Caribbean countries,
and teach at CSD-Fremont.
