Rathskellar is a Deaf performing-arts ensemble that uses a high-energy blemd of ASL comedy, song, dance, storytelling, and mime, light and sound effects. The ensemble was founded by Jonathan Kovacs, a veteran actor, and named after the Rathskellar at Gallaudet University (a pub and student hangout previously housed in the basement of Ely Center). They've performed throughout the U.S.A. and in several venues in Europe, including Hamburg, Copenhagen, and Amsterdam. Back by popular demand, they've embarked on a new road tour. Their goal: to celebrate ASL while showing their audiences what Deaf people can do.
