Dr. Frank G. Bowe was known as a champion of disability rights. He advocated not only for Deaf rights, but on behalf of all people with disabilities. He was called “The Father of Section 504,” played important roles in subsequent legislation, such as the ADA and the Telecommunications Act. At the time of his death, he was a professor at Hofstra University, where he inspired many students to choose community-related careers. He was an international lecturer, author, and mentor.
