Gil Eastman was a founding member of the National Theatre of the Deaf, a successful playwright (e.g., Sign Me Alice, Laurent Clerc: a Profile), director, professor of drama and ASL at Gallaudet, head of the Theatre Arts Department, history buff, community advocate, and co-host of Gallaudet's award-winning TV series, Deaf Mosaic. Even while battling cancer, he advocated for better emergency communications for all Deaf patients. Our tribute includes reminiscences from several notables who worked with him.
